The Difference Between 'Is' and 'Was'

Past tense. Referring to Mom G as she 'was', as opposed to she 'is'. I know from past experience with losing loved ones, that this process of grieving, just slams you when you don't necessarily expect it. Case in point : talking about Mom in the past tense, because she's gone. Gone, but not forgotten.
