FullHOG Chapter Meeting - Officer Nominations

Dave and I went to the FullHOG Chapter meeting at the Dealership. As Dave had originally thought that he would be out-of-town for this meeting, he let Assistant Director Rudy run the meeting. As usual Rudy did a great job! Good turnout of 150 people tonight. Barbara S shared her scrapbook of our recent trip to Milwaukee for the 105th celebration - terrific photos and capturing the memory of the trip - I thanked her for letting me see it tonight before the meeting. Our Activities Committee hosted a BBQ burger dinner before the meeting - very tasty. It was wonderful to see Pat S. tonight, only needing a cane to walk, as she is recovering from a broken leg that resulted when she and husband Bob went down on the bike awhile back. It was so sweet to re-unite with friends, Donald and Sharon H who we've missed seeing for the last several months. Donald works for the construction company that is doing the expansion of UCI Medical Center - they have been working overtime to get their portion of the building done, which hasn't left any time to come and join us until tonight. It was good to be able to say hello to so many friends tonight.
I took photos tonight and then took the minutes for the meeting, which lasted about an hour tonight. We held the meeting outside and it was really hot weather - it was still 90 degrees at 9 pm when we got home after the meeting. We held nominations for Chapter officers for 2009 - neither Dave or I are running for a Board position for next year. Rick L and Terry B - both excellent candidates for Director to replace Dave, Bob L'H for Assistant Director, he's held that position before and will be great again, Beth T for Secretary will take my position and be wonderful I'm sure, Cheryl S will continue as our Treasurer for another year - excellent job she's done this year for us, and Drew B as Safety Officer, another great choice from the ranks of our veteran Road Captains. We will hold elections at our next meeting at the end of October. Considering that these are all volunteer positions, its quite wonderful that such top notch people volunteer so much of themselves so we can have a fun and safe year of Harley riding.
