Feb 24th - Sunday Dinner with Our Kids
Feb 24th - Sunday Night - Brent and Adriana joined Dave and I for dinner at our house. It gave us a chance to hear about the latest civil engineering project Adriana is working on - a housing project in Tustin Legacy and to hear about what Brent is up to - some very interesting projects - offshoots of his fitness training work. Brent had injured his toe while wrestling, during an MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) training session. They keep telling him that they could set him up with a match in a heartbeat, which while flattering to his ego - is not something he desires. (I hope!) We talked about the economy and their goal for moving into a house within the next year. One of Adriana's many talents - she's a planner, so if its got a plan - it will happen.Even though the Academy Awards Show was on this evening, we never turned the television on. (In truth, we didn't have the TV on at all this weekend. I spent my spare time reading a book and Dave spent his time working on his computer - toggling back and forth on different things, on his two different screens.)
Brent and Adriana spent 4 hours with us - just chatting around the dining room table. Dave offered and did the cooking this evening - tomato soup and sandwiches. We shared a bit about our recent trip and shared a couple of pictures, particularly about our visit to Chattanooga, TN and 'Rock City Gardens', from which you can see (7) states and 'Ruby Falls', which is a 145 foot waterfall, that you reach by going down 1020 feet - its an underground waterfall in a cavern. We gave them the memento gifts we had brought back from our trip for them, especially the Indian 'Dream Catcher' from Cherokee, NC.
I returned the framed 'Steve Huston Drawings', that I had held in safekeeping for them, since the Santiago Canyon Fire, as they could carry the 24" x 36" frame, in the back of Adriana's RAV4, which they had driven up to the house tonight. (She has 80,000 miles on the RAV4 now, which she's had since her college days. It has been an excellent car for her.)
It was just nice to see and catch up with them - very enjoyable, relaxed and comfortable.
Dave and I finished the evening with another soak in our spa - our third for the day - ahhh, very relaxing.
