Friend Dan V Hosted a Dance

Dec 26th - Our friend, Dan V. had invited us to attend the Contra Dance that he was hosting for the first time on 'Boxing Day', Dec 26th, at the college where he works in Azusa. As Dave ended up coming home from the office early today because he was sick to his stomach, we had to pass on going to the dance. (I think all the over indulging in foods that we don't normally eat any more, caught up with him.)

Note: we received an email with photos of the dance from Dan on Dec 30th - it was quite successful. 130 people in attendance - Whoa! Dan even got his 78 yr old mother and her friends to attend, plus students from the music, art and drama depts at the college - so there was a wide array of ages and expertise of the dancers. He had told us that there would be a lot of 'first timers' at this dance. They held the dance on the stage at the Performing Arts Center at Citrus College. 'Frannie' was the caller, she's very good and they had a good 4 pc. band performing the music (think Appalachian country blue grass style dance music). It looked like they had a really good time together. This was Dan's way of repaying the groups (Anaheim, Pasadena, Brentwood, to name a few of the venues that they dance with) for all the enjoyment and friendship that he and his wife Jocelyn and their son Matthew have found in Contra Dancing this past year.
