Flowerbed Planted and Dave, Mr. Helpful
While I worked on planting the bed, Dave got out his old, professional lawn edger, and made that his morning project - to repair it or replace it. (A really good trait that he inherited from his Dad and one that he has passed on to our sons is that he really likes to figure out how things work and he'll tinker with things and usually be able to fix them, and often times redesign them to work better - our sons can do the same thing. Very good ability.) Anyway, he had run over to Lowe's Home Improvement and bought a chain saw mounted on an extension pole to trim the trees in the backyard and while he was there he bought a replacement blade and pull cord for the edger. He tinkered and finally got it all done. It worked. So, after we finished the flowerbed, he edged the front yard and because our neighbors, Stan and Alice were also working on their yards - he offered to edge their yards for them - so he continued on next door and then across the street. I do like that about him. Oh, and our neighbor, Mark had hired a couple of guys to wash his house windows and under the eaves of the house - they had forgotten to bring an extension ladder, so Dave loaned them ours - so they could do their job - which they appreciated and they returned our ladder when they had finished.
We had salads for lunch and took a 2 hour nap - I slept hard. A lot of atrophied muscles on me. We finished the day the way we started it - with a soothing soak in the spa. It was a good day today.
