Perseid Meteor Shower
Every summer about this time, we get to see the Perseid Meteor Shower. Dave and I sat on our front porch, scanning the sky above - he spotted one and then I saw one. We're lucky that we don't have too much ambient light around us, so we can still see the stars. We'll get up before dawn tomorrow and watch again, as that is supposed to be the height of the meteor shower - with as many as 60 per hour visible in the early morning sky. Its easier to see this year, as the moon is in the new moon lunar stage, so the skies are darker and 'shooting stars' are easier to spot.
